This would certainly fit in the 1976 vibe as celebration of the United States 200th birthday--in time to celebrate the 250th. In a millinery weave, it has a high rounded crown and a deep blue downturned brim. A 2\" wide gros grain ribbon in 2 sizes of red/white and blue/white polka dots plays host to a large millinery red cherry (in honor of George Washington?). The cherry is surrounded by whiffs of white feathers. The underside and interior is in white. Size: 5\" tall; 2\" brim at front sloping to 2 1/2\" at back; 21 1/2\" inner band circumference. Condition: very good vintage. Note the high crown has some naturally developed \"dents.\" The weave does respond to steaming if one wants to stuff the interior and then steam to make it more rounded.
